Help us define the future of X-ray instruments in the food industry Your responsibility will be to develop and implement the measurement technology of current and future X-ray instruments - taking the technology from the lab environment to full-scale production. The responsibility includes the technical overview of the complete system from the raw measurement to the result and the interfaces to the rest of the instrument. A key to succeeding is the ability to plan, coordinate and communicate results to the project members and stakeholders. Your tasks will span experimental work, measurements, simulations, and design. This is done in close collaboration with an experienced X-ray scientist, data scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, software developers and other departments outside R&D. Your daily work will be at the FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød, Denmark. You will be become part of X-ray and LIBS teams in the Technology department of R&D. The team is responsible for innovation, development, and support of the measuring systems of FOSS’ product based on laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, X-ray, and computer vision technology. Together, the teams in Technology hold a high level of experience and competence within optics, physics, biochemistry, and microbiology. We strive to deliver solutions performing to the edge the technology with world leading relation between performance, cost, footprint, and reliability. A scientist who wants to deliver solutions to end customers You have a M.Sc. degree in physics or similar and most likely a Ph.D. You have proven results and hands-on experience developing X-ray based systems or experimental setups. In addition, you have interest in and experience with some of the following topics: - Designing, specifying, and modeling X-ray systems and component such as sources and detectors
- Planning and executing experiments to validate designs and new ideas in laboratory set-ups and early prototypes including data analysis in e.g. Python or MatLab
- Instrument development and participation in cross-functional development projects
- Making dose calculations for X-ray safety and knowledge of safety standards
