Are you a highly motivated and results-driven professional looking to make a significant impact? FOSS Korea is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will perform product and application support activities to maintain equipment and ensure customer satisfaction. Your expertise in electronics and mechanical principles will be crucial in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and restoring operations.

As a valued member of our Service Team, you will be the face of FOSS, delivering best-in-class customer service, responsiveness, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
You will install, maintain, and repair analytical instruments at customer sites, train users in software applications and proper equipment operation, and provide phone support to customers, recommending actions such as ordering parts or scheduling service visits. Additionally, you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including warranty services, within prescribed time frames, and communicate service offerings, including training, support, software, laboratory services, and field upgrades.

Partnering with customers to understand their analytical workflow and applications, you will ensure high customer satisfaction by monitoring support activities and maintaining communication with supervisors and support coordinators. Compliance with safety standards, company policies, and business objectives is essential, as is maintaining accurate records of services performed and submitting activity and expense reports. You will keep scheduling applications updated and inform supervisors of activities, stay updated on product and policy information through the company intranet and website portal, attend service meetings and training sessions, and perform other duties as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with 2-5 years of experience as a field service engineer, preferably in the analytical industry, and a two-year college or university degree (BSc) in an engineering discipline or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to travel by air, vehicle, and other means as required, demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and provide qualification services, and a valid driver’s license with safe motor vehicle operation are necessary (company car, cell phone, and laptop provided).

Experience with Microsoft 365, SAP, or Salesforce, 2+ years of laboratory and/or field service experience, exposure to analytical equipment, laboratory environments, and instrument control software, and experience with NIR/FT-IR/X-ray/chemical analytical equipment are preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Availability for Saturday/Sunday work as needed, regular working days from Monday to Friday, the ability to take after-hours phone calls, work environment within the food industry, ability to travel long distances to customer sites, operation of test equipment and computer systems, stamina to remain focused on tasks until completion, and attention to detail despite interruptions are required.

Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, customer empathy, and clear communication skills within and outside the organization are essential. Success in this role will be defined by creating strong and lasting relationships with FOSS customers.
