The job We are looking for a talented and motivated student assistant to join our team Analytics and Data Management in FOSS R&D. You will work in close collaboration with the data scientists in our team. Your work will consist of assisting the data scientists in development and maintenance of analytics packages for our instruments, primarily for our portfolio of NIR and FT-IR instruments. There may be routine tasks that help streamline our processes. This is a unique opportunity to broaden your expertise within chemometrics. We are looking for part time student assistant who can work 15 hours a week, and you will work from FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød. You will report to the Head of Analytics and Data Management, Jacob Kræmer Witthaus. Your key responsibilities As our new student assistant in our team, you will play a crucial role in: - Developing and maintaining our current analytical packages
- Exploring new applications
- Supporting our data scientists with various tasks
What will make you fit this role well? You are a B.Sc. or M.Sc. student in a relevant engineering discipline; food science, agricultural science, chemistry, chemometrics or similar. You have qualifications within the following areas: - Chemometric modelling. Including multivariate regression techniques (PLS and ANN) and multivariate exploratory methods (PCA and similar)
- Knowledge of one or more programming environments, such as MATLAB, python, or R – or willing to become it
- Knowledge of, and preferably experience with, near infrared and mid infrared spectroscopy
- Keen interest in a wide array of food/agri products and production methods
- It is a prerequisite that you are fluent in written and spoken English
