Production Area Manager


Are you an experienced leader with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence? We’re a mid-sized R&D company in the food and beverage sector, and we’re looking for a structured and people-oriented Production Area Manager to join our leadership team.

The job, the department & daily tasks
We are a family-owned company, and we produce (install) instruments with electronical and mechanical parts and our core value is based on serving our customers with technological advanced solutions and strong company values. Our production site in Hillerød contains of approximately of 70 unskilled blue-collar workers, which is divided into 3 different areas. The areas contain of different instruments for different sectors, and you can expect to get acquainted with the most of them. – Also, in a technical aspect.

Please note, that in the beginning of 2026 the entire production site will be moving to our brand-new top of the art production site in Vinge, Frederikssund.

As our new Production Area Manager, you will oversee a key operational area of our production, where efficiency, collaboration, and leadership go hand in hand. You’ll be responsible for both team management and operational performance, with a strong focus on implementing and sustaining FOSS Flow (LEAN) principles throughout your department.

We are seeking someone who understands how to engage employees in optimizing processes and creating a culture of continuous improvement — without compromising on the human aspect of leadership. You will promote and act as a mentor and role model for our FOSS Flow principles and you are expected to exercise leadership through designated team coordinators, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration."

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop a team of skilled employees
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and structured problem-solving
  • Improve workflows and eliminate waste
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth, end-to-end quality and operation targets
  • Resource and capacity planning to meet production targets
  • Be a part of our HSE-group/production

Who you are
You are a natural leader who thrives in environments where structure, performance, and people come together. You have a trustworthy approach, take ownership, and believe in building strong, trust-based relationships with your team and in regards of your peer people managers.

You lead from the floor and enjoy being visible and available for your team and you’re not afraid to get involved in the details when needed, without compromising the long-term goal. Your understanding of LEAN is based on a hands-on and practical approach, and you know how to turn theory into action.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in a production or technical setting
  • Practical experience with LEAN, KATA, A3, 5S or from a similar problem-solving environment
  • An intuitive approach to leadership, knowing when to step forward and when to empower others through coaching. – Especially regarding your team coordinators
  • The ability to motivate and engage people through change
  • Experience in collaborate with R&D, production support and NPI
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative nature
  • Contain a natural ability to work with SAP, MS-office and IT in general
  • A strong sense of loyalty, responsibility, and drive to succeed with your team
  • To be fluent in Danish and English (English is our corporate language)
