Design the next generation of smart test systems Join us as our new R&D Test Systems Engineer and play a pivotal role in ensuring the exceptional quality of our analytical solutions for the global food and agriculture industries. At FOSS, we are committed to developing the world's leading analytical solutions for the food and agriculture industries, and rigorous testing is the foundation of our mission. Your work will directly ensure the integrity and performance of every product we develop and manufacture, from initial concept to final production. Your role in technology innovation You will design, build, and implement robust production test equipment for our state-of-the-art analytical solutions. Working in dynamic, cross-functional development teams, you will deliver new analytical solutions to the global market. In close partnership with the Test Project Manager, you will plan project deliveries and ensure the creation of meaningful production test solutions that add value to the production line, guaranteeing the high quality of our products. Your role is primarily focused on the "production test" aspect of the team's responsibilities, but with a mandate to help drive our strategic shift toward smart module testing, instrument self-diagnostics, and next-generation test architecture within R&D. Driving smart production & DFT In this dynamic and collaborative role, your primary responsibilities will include: - Automate and optimize: Developing and implementing automated test solutions to increase testing efficiency and effectiveness on the production line, while actively participating in the exploration of modern software platforms to scale our capabilities.
- Integrate early testability (DFT): Influencing product design by participating in design reviews and providing critical input on hardware testability.
- Collaborate across boundaries: Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and measurement chain experts, to define testing requirements and strategies.
- Drive issue resolution: Driving issue resolution by identifying and diagnosing hardware defects, working closely with the engineering team to improve product quality.
- Ensure production stability: Ensuring production stability by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for any test failures.
- Enable smooth integration: Training production and NPI in the use of the test solution, ensuring a smooth and seamless integration. Creating and maintaining test documentation, including test procedures, maintenance guides, test reports, and performance metrics.
- Manage external tech partners: Collaborating with external partners and vendors to ensure the seamless integration of production test equipment.
- Push technical boundaries: Driving continuous improvement by staying updated on the latest hardware testing methodologies, tools, and industry trends.
The technical innovator we are looking for To succeed in this role, you have a meticulous eye for detail and a proactive, positive mindset. You thrive in complex technical environments and are an exceptional communicator. We envision that you have: - A bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Either proven experience in hardware test design, preferably in the low-volume electronics or technology industry, or a strong drive to learn new competencies and rapidly develop these skills.
- Proficiency in programming TestStand, LabVIEW, or other programming languages for test automation, as we look to modernize our systems.
- A great understanding of how effective production and supply chain setups work and how tests contribute to a robust value chain.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required, and it's preferred that you can communicate with the production team in spoken Danish.
