Soft Flow is the leading biotechnology company in the fields of flow cytometry and food/feed safety with 20 years of experience in R&D and cooperation with market leaders in global industry. Instrument Technician – Soft Flow NPD Program

We are looking for a technically skilled and experienced Instrument Technician to join our New Product Development Program within the Research and Development department. About the Role You as Instrument Technician are hands-on in the NPD project(s) and are part of the program team, building and maintaining functional models and prototypes together with the rest of the project team. You will contribute to the development of unique, dedicated instruments known for being fast, precise, and easy-to-use. You will work closely with the other project team members to ensure that all instruments are functioning properly and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner to ensure that the project progresses as planned, as well as our FOSS instruments are maintained and in working order. Some travel could occasionally be expected to support, e.g. R&D field test activities. Your Key Responsibilities • Build and maintain test setups and instruments (functional models and prototypes). • Execute hardware updates and changes across both mechanical and electronic components. • Perform software and firmware updates to ensure all test setups and instruments are aligned with the latest versions. • Maintain and troubleshoot instruments and related equipment, diagnosing problems promptly and developing a practical understanding of system performance. • Create technical drawings of cables and other instrument components. • Monitor and report on instrument status, including updates and identified issues. • Follow all safety protocols and consistently maintain a safe working environment. • Support the Lead Mechanical Engineer in new product introduction activities (design tasks, BOM preparation, documentation, and assembly support, etc). What You Bring Background in Electronics, Mechanics, or another related field: A high school diploma with relevant vocational training, or at least 2 years’ hands-on experience in a similar position.
